Black Friday Deals 2024

Updated: Dec 1

Hi all! There are some EXCELLENT Black Friday Car Seat deals this year, so I wanted to share some that I recommend as well as their pros/cons (in alphabetical order).

This post contains affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. I appreciate your support!

A forward facing only seat with a booster mode.

Pros:

  • Extremely easy to install

  • Tall, upright seat - good for kids who want the “big kid” feeling in a car seat

  • Tall harness height

  • Easy to adjust

Cons:

  • Only compatible in cars where the headrests can be removed

  • Booster mode doesn’t fit thinner/smaller kids well

  • Doesn’t recline much - not good for car sleepers

An inflatable booster (for kids who are at least 5 years old and at least 40 lbs and can sit still), good for travel and tiny middle seats!

Pros:

  • Very narrow and lightweight

  • Can deflate for travel to make it even smaller

  • Fits in a backpack for carpool etc

Cons:

  • A sturdy booster is safer for heavier booster riders

  • Shoulder belt clip (included) must be used for most kids

  • Can be hard for kids to buckle by themselves

  • Some kids sit still better on a more sturdy booster

A good, versatile infant seat. Has a headrest that moves up and down as opposed to the older Keyfits that have slots for the straps.

Pros:

  • Narrow

  • Easy to install base

  • Generally good fit on most infants 6 lbs and up

  • Easy to adjust as the child grows

Cons:

  • Heavier than many other infant seats

  • Not the best fit on the tiniest newborns (4-6 lbs)

This seat rear and forward faces.

Pros:

  • Easy to install and adjust

  • Legroom for daysssss - TONS of legroom

  • Compact front to back

Cons:

  • Wide. This is not a narrow seat

  • Must be reclined forward facing under 40 lbs

This is a “narrow-ish” :) seat that rear and forward faces and has a high back booster mode.

Pros:

  • Easy to install and adjust

  • Has decent infant positioning starting at a few months old

  • Reasonably narrow

Cons:

  • Despite the name, not the best for the tightest 3 across situations

  • Not that compact front to back

This is a very narrow seat that rear and forward faces and has a high back booster mode. It has a lockoff for forward facing installation that helps it fit in tight places.

Update: May no longer be on Black Friday deal - be sure to check Amazon for current price

Pros:

  • fits in narrow spaces better than any other conventional seat

  • Amazing for 3 across!

  • Easy to install and adjust

Cons:

  • Sits tall in some cars and can block the view

  • Doesn’t have good infant positioning

A terrific budget choice for an infant seat

Pros:

  • Lightweight

  • Generally good positioning on babies 6 lbs and up

  • Easy to install with latch

  • Easy to install baseless

Cons:

  • Seatbelt install of the base can be tough

  • Not the best fit on the smallest newborns

This is an excellent lightweight FORWARD FACING ONLY seat that turns into a high back and no back booster.

Pros:

  • Very lightweight

  • Can be used from about age 2 until when the child is out of a booster. (The child is safer rear facing at a younger age though.)

  • Super easy to adjust - excellent carpool seat

Cons:

  • can be difficult to install tightly in some cars

This is a good, basic Graco seat that is easy to adjust. It has a rear facing mode, forward facing and booster mode.

Pros:

  • Fairly easy to install. Easy to adjust

  • Pretty compact rear facing in the car

  • Inexpensive!

Cons:

  • Latch is “hook latch” which can be harder to unattach. (Can install with seatbelt though.)

  • Not a great newborn fit; starts working well at about 6 months

The Joie Mint Latch is a fabulous new infant seat which connects with rigid latch right to the car! No need for a base!

Pros:

  • Quick and easy install

  • Safety feature of rigid latch

  • Fits newborns very well

  • Relatively lightweight

Cons:

  • Has flame retardants - this may be a concern for some families

  • Only compatible with Joie strollers (may change in the future)

A fabulous convertible seat. Rear and forward faces.

Pros:

  • Extremely easy to install and adjust

  • Very compact front to back rear facing

  • Plush and comfy for kids

  • Very easy to get a tight installation

  • No flame retardants

Cons:

  • Not as much rear facing legroom as other seats. (This is NOT a safety issue at all.)

  • Starts at 5 lbs but may be too upright for smaller infants in some cars with very sloped seats

This is a super compact forward facing only travel seat that usually fits from ages 2-5. It’s also useful for tiny middle seats.

Pros:

  • Extremely narrow and compact

  • Folds up

  • Very easy to install with latch

Cons:

  • Not always the most comfortable for kids

  • Crotch buckle can be tight

  • Seatbelt install can be difficult
