In 2012, when my daughter was born, I took a hiatus from my career as a computer programmer to become a stay-at-home mom. After my daughter, who was born prematurely, did poorly on her "car seat test" in the NICU, I learned that she had been placed in the seat incorrectly. This inspired me to start learning about the field of child passenger safety. I began learning from other car seat technicians and answering car seat questions online. After my son was born 18 months later, I got my child passenger safety technician certification, and I haven't looked back since! I meet with parents and caregivers and show them how to install their seats and harness their children correctly. I have also earned a certification in special needs car seats. I am an admin/moderator of several online car seat groups, I have consulted with leading manufacturers about seat design and features, I write reviews of new seats for the Carseatblog website, and previously I served as Vice President of another international car seat organization, Car Seats for the Littles. I moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 2020 with my husband and our three children.
